Avoid Falling into Depression during the Winter Months


If you are anything like me the lack of sunshine and the cold temperatures that come with the holiday season make me less inclined to attend events that involve me leaving my apartment.

This week I will be giving you 5 tips that I have been using to keep my mood lifted and my body motivated and to help you avoid falling into,

S.easonal A. ffective D.isorder. S.A.D. is a form of depression that occurs during the changes in the seasons. Some symptoms that you may encounter while experiencing S.A.D. are:

  • Oversleeping / Having low energy

  • Feeling moody or depressed

  • Weight gain/ Appetite changes

While S.A.D. is more common in the winter months, this form of depression can also occur during the summer season. Not everyone will experience Seasonal Affective Disorder. It occurs in individuals between the ages of 15 and 55. This disorder is more common in women but occur in men as well.
