Avocado Banana Deep Conditioner

Fall is here! With the Fall season comes many changes such as the weather, the leaves, fruits, veggies, wardrobe, health regimens and more. But, if you’re like me, you aren’t ready to let go of that glowy, sun kissed skin and long summer days. As the seasons change and we welcome cooler temperatures, while managing to hold onto summer's warmth, I’ve been using this DIY deep conditioner to keep my hair feeling and looking light weight, shiny and moisturized.

Ingredients:

  • Half Avocado

  • Half Banana

  • 2tbsp Coconut Oil

  • 3tbsp Honey

Avocados help prevent hair loss, promote hair growth, and add moisture and shine to our hair

Bananas hydrate and soften the hair

Coconut Oil supports hair growth, improves scalp health, treats dandruff and eliminates dry hair

Honey contains enzymes and nutrients that gives our hair shine without weighing it down

Instructions:

When picking your avocado, purchase one that is ripe and feels soft, this will help avoid clumps in your conditioner mix as well as in your hair. Place all of your ingredients into and food processor and blend until the mix becomes a puree. (I used a Ninja Express Chop) Place the deep conditioner in a glass bowl or a container of your choice.

Did I mention that this deep conditioner smells amazing !

On freshly washed hair, section your hair into 4 parts. Work the deep conditioner into each section from root to tip. Wear a conditioning cap for at least 30mins or more. Rinse your hair lightly with shampoo, apply your normal conditioner and style as usual.

The recipe listed is enough to apply the conditioner generously throughout each section of my hair. Adjust the measurements as needed to fit your hair needs. If you have any product left over, store in a glass jar and place in the refrigerator. Keep the conditioner for up to a week. If you feel like your hair needs some extra TLC, use this conditioner once a week until you obtain the desired moisture and shine.
