Fruity Pepples Rice Crispy Treats

College started me on my love for homemade Rice Krispies treats. The treats were made onsite at the cafeteria's bakery, they were huge and yummy. Does anyone remember when Kellogg's Cereal Bars first came out? My grandmother used to keep the cabinet packed with these for my siblings and me to take to school. Some of the best flavored cereal bars that I used to enjoy as a kid were the Trix and Honey Nut Cheerios cereal bars. My idea (along with Pinterests help) was to recreate a sweet treat that resembled cereal bars. Try the recipe below and I guarantee you'll be hooked. Enjoy!

What you'll need:

  • 3 cups of Rice Krispies cereal

  • 3 cups Fruity Pebbles cereal

  • 3 table spoons of butter and pot with

  • one bag of mini sized marshmallows (10oz)

Mix it up:

Using a saucepan melt the butter and marshmallows at low heat until marshmallows are completely melted. Remove the pot from heat and add in your cereal until the marshmallows and cereal are evenly distributed. With a butter spatula spread the marshmallow and cereal mix into a 13x9x2 pan. Cut the mixture into squares and enjoy your fruity pebbles rice crispy treats!
